Bus Driver Julio Ospina Wins  National Special Needs Driver of the Year Award for Heroic Student Rescue

Wylie ISD Special Education Bus Driver Julio Ospina was selected as the 2025 National Special Needs Driver of the Year by AMF Bruns America. He was surprised with the honor and a $1,000 check Dec. 4 at the Wylie ISD Transportation Center, surrounded by Wylie ISD bus drivers, transportation personnel, and district leadership.

George W. Bush Elementary Fourth Graders Travel to Fort Worth on an Education in Action Discover Texas Field Trip

Fourth graders from Wylie ISD's George W. Bush Elementary traveled to Fort Worth on an Education in Action Discover Texas Field Trip, Thursday, November 13, 2025, to experience what they are learning in Texas History. Students visited the Fort Worth Stockyards, the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, and the Cattle Raisers Museum.
